Paver Driveway Installation for a New Construction Home

When you're building a new home, the driveway is one of the first things anyone sees. It sets the tone. A plain concrete pour might get the job done, but a well-laid paver driveway? That's a statement. It tells anyone pulling up that the details actually mattered to the people who built this place.

Here's what we're working with on this one - a brand new build with a large driveway footprint that needed hardscape done right from the start. We laid out the pavers in a staggered pattern using large-format natural stone-look pavers with a warm, sandy tone. The pattern itself adds visual interest without being flashy. Clean. Structured. Built to hold up.

The install process is where shortcuts show up later - so we don't take them. String lines keep everything aligned. Every paver gets measured and placed with purpose. The gravel base is packed and level before a single stone goes down. That kind of prep work is what separates a driveway that lasts decades from one that starts shifting and cracking after a few hard winters.

Once the hardscape is locked in, we'll be coming back to finish the landscaping around it. That's actually how we prefer to work on new construction - get the hardscape set first, then build the landscaping around it. It gives everything a cohesive look instead of two separate installs that don't quite talk to each other.
